Crossing Brooklyn Ferry 2012 Curated By The National

Crossing Brooklyn Ferry featuring The National is coming May 3-5, 2012.

The Crossing Brooklyn Ferry Festival, curated by The National, has announced a lineup. The Walkmen, St. Vincent, Beirut, Sharon Van Etten, The Antlers, and the Atlas Sound have all been handpicked by The National’s twin brothers, Bryce and Aaron Dessner. See below for the full day by day breakdown and current lineup.

What is Crossing Brooklyn Ferry? This is a new festival from May 3-5, 2012. It’s produced by the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) which is also America’s oldest performing arts center. Besides the music, there will also be screenings of short films and a late night dance party.

Ticket Info: Single day tickets are priced at $45 and go on sale to the general public March 12, 2012 (BAM members get early access). Crossing Brooklyn Ferry 3-Day passes have already sold out, so make haste if you want to get into one of the hippest shows of the summer.

Fun Fact: Crossing Brooklyn Ferry gets its name from the title of a Walt Whitman poem.

Here’s the lineup. This should be close to a final call. You like? We think its fantastic. The New York area (no surprise here) is putting together a slew of music festivals this year that you just can’t see anywhere else in the country.
