THE SCENE

Rock On The Range--the nation’s biggest and most-acclaimed active rock festival—will grow to three full days in 2014 after a successful expanded Friday Night in 2013. Over 105,000 die hard Rangers attended ROTR last year, traveling to Columbus, OH from all 50 states and over the globe, resulting in a sellout for the first time since the inaugural, one-day Rock on the Range in 2007.

I have never gone to Rock on the Range but I am really hoping to this year. I just have some questions and have no clue where to direct them to. What is the difference in stadium seating versus field seating? I noticed a big price difference so I was wondering can you access all of the different stages if you have stadium seating and is the view not as good if you have stadium seating thus the cheaper price? Also, when is the exact line up of who plays when released? Thanks for any help you can give me…

To answer your first question: Stadium seating will give access to standing room at the outside two stages and first come, first serve seating around the stadium for the main stage which is located inside Columbus Crew Stadium. However, you can only get onto the floor (or the soccer “field”) if you pay for field seating which is the only difference (Field has access to everything stadium seating has). Honestly I like being in the crowd and getting as close as I can to the bands I am coming to see (This year being Avenged Sevenfold and Dive Finger Death Punch) so I will be paying for field. The exact lineup last year was announced in March but you can assume the bands closer to the bottom will be at the outside stages, the ones near the top will end each of the nights, etc. Hope this helps!
