you’ll be fine. you don’t need to campout at all. i’m a new orleans native and go every year. although the atmosphere is a bit more adultish, foccused around ages 17-23 but yea have fun. if you really want to campout, it’ll be in a swampy mosquito filled park called new orleans city park. i highly suggest a hotel

reenie, compared to lolla voodoo is a ghostown, not that its be a bad thing at all, especially given your situation. i hit both last year and was shocked at the difference, voodoo is a thousand times more manouverable than lolla. i can’t say i was especially sober to recall the layout per say, but i had absolutely no trouble walking up to the front of most any stage and could just as easily back off a bit and even sit in the field with lots of space and solid sight lines. with that said i don’t recall hills, the mainstage had a raised VIP platform on the one side but otherwise pretty flat as i recall, but like i say you don’t need hills, 4 hour advance stakeouts or anything like that for voodoo

Park at Cabrini High School as it’s safe, secure parking within walking distance of the park. Cabrini is across from the St. Louis cemetary at the end of Esplanade Ave near Bayou St. John.

odd question. i’ve never been to voodoo (been other major festivals, lolla, etc). we are in wisconsin but thinking of trekking down because our boys (they’re little, please don’t groan at bringing them to a festival) are massive Green Day and Jack White fans and to see them both in one shot would be their dream come true. at lolla, it’s pretty easy to stake out a spot on the side, on grassy hills etc at main stages if you’re willing to camp out early. is this the case at voodoo? obviously, we need to keep them safe so we can’t be in the middle of the crowd like we normally would but i don’t want to drive 16 hours and have them be unable to see anything. if you’ve been there, can you let me know more about the layout? thanks.

Camping at Voodoo? That is awesome. It will be nice to camp at a fest when its not 100 degrees outside. New Orleans in Oct is pretty sweet!
