Bonnaroo want your help for their 2013 lineup announcement. Make a video and you might be in the lineup video.
Here’s what you need to do:
Narrow it down to your #1 artist for Bonnaroo 2013 and…
1. Create a video stating your case for why your artist of choice NEEDS to be on the lineup. Hold a sign, sing a song, have some fun!
2. Film it using a phone, camera, webcam, Flipcam or whatever else is handy and easy
3. The video can be 10 seconds or 4 minutes as long as its awesome
4. Upload video to YouTube and tag with Roo13Wishlist or email it directly to firstname.lastname@example.org
12 years. That’s how long the Northwest String Summit has been jamming. The festival returns July 18-21, 2013, to scenic Horning’s Hideout. Nothing on tickets or lineup, but make sure to sign up for the NWSS newsletter to get updates.
There’s also a documentary coming out soon all about the festival. Here’s the trailer:
Here’s a nice little video showing what you missed at Day of the Dead. (Hint: It was EDM music and hot chicks)
Having spent a good chunk of our lives mixed up with The Warped Tour, we’re fairly stoked to see a reality show about our “day job”. And if you believe they have chopped and edited this series to make it seem like working on The Warped Tour is high-stress and extremely tiring, they haven’t. Something like fifty shows in sixty days along with traveling around the country in a bus can be tough — and it can also be the experience of your life.
An explanation to a complaint that’s literally old enough to drive a car.
The Festival Guy returns and he’s fired up for 2013. Here’s the origin video of how mild mannered Tucker transformed into The Festival Guy. He’s also looking for your help fellow festies for how to change future music festivals. Make sure to check out his site right here.
Lineup videos for music festivals usually follow a fairly structured format. There’s a cool song, a few shots of the festival from previous years if available, and then a rundown of all the bands. But each year, there’s always a few stand outs which elevate the art of the music festival lineup video. Here are our favorites from 2012 in no particular order.
Music Festival: Outside Lands
Why We Love It: Finally, we get the MC Hammer origin story.
Music Festival: Parklife
Why We Love It: Cute and furry mascots combined with partial nudity are always winners.
Music Festival: The Governor’s Ball
Why We Love It: The Dancebulance.
Music Festival: The Gathering of the Juggalos
Whey We Love It: A completely gonzo 23 minute infomercial breaks every rule of the standard fest trailer. Low budget, insane, and wavering between absolute genius and total garbage.
