The Breakaway Festival will debut this fall at two soccer stadiums in Ohio and Texas. The first fest will be held September 14, 2013, at the Columbus Crew Stadium in Ohio. The fest then moves to to FC Dallas Stadium for September 21, 2013.
According to Billboard Magazine, the founder is starting small to test the waters:
“The idea here is to not keep these as single-day events, but the first year made sense to do it just on the Saturday. By 2014 and 2015, we expect two- and three-day events for both markets. We are going to build this brand year by year until we believe it can sustain a multi-day.”
The lineup rundown so far–
Columbus: Bassnectar, Empire of the Sun, Kendrick Lamar, Porter Robinson, 21 Pilots, Juicy J, Tokyo Police Club, Schoolboy Q, Robert DeLong, American Authors, LA Riots, Stalley, and Shreddie Mercury.
Dallas: Wu-Tang Clan, Empire of the Sun, Big Gigantic, Matt & Kim, Explosions in the Sky, Crizzly, Ra Ra Riot, and Danny Avila.
Tickets: The single day events will only be $49 with presale starting on June 18.
