Scranton, home of the fictional Dundler-Mifflin Paper Company, is now home to the very real Peach Music Festival happening August 10-12, 2012. The Allman Brothers teamed up with Live Nation to produce a lineup that includes a solid list of jam bands including Zac Brown Band, Warren Haynes, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Railroad Earth, O.A.R., Blackberry Smoke, Jiomoe’s Jazzez Band, Dark Star Orchestra, The Wailers, Robert Randolph & The Family Band, and The Blind Boys of Alabama. The Allman Brothers will play two nights of the festival.
Now we know what some of you are thinking. Scranton? Isn’t that some sort of post-industrial coal mining town? What you don’t know is that this area of Pennsylvania is rolling hills and mellow countryside. The venue is at Montage Mountain, a local ski hill that boasts chill camping. One thing to remember — it won’t be car camping so pack light, friends.
Oh, and one other important item besides the music. There’s a frippin’ water park on site that’s free with admission.
Tickets: Tickets are on sale now for The Peach Music Festival. There’s various pricing levels depending on the how long you wait. This will vary from $120-$165 and it’s Live Nation so expect service fees of at least 20-25% on top of that. Camping is an additional $35.
