The Gorge, a badass venue in the middle of nowhere Washington, now has two new music festivals this summer. Most of you folk know The Gorge from Sasquatch! on Memorial Day Weekend and now Live Nation announced that it will produce two niche festivals this summer at one of the best amphitheaters in the country:
First up is the Paradiso Festival (also produced by USC Events), a brand spanking new one-day electronic fest, scheduled for June 23, 2012. Tickets will be $80 and feature Afrojack and Avicii among others. The website promises 12 hours of music and:
…larger than life amusement park rides, high flying bungee trapeze aerialists, fire breathing dragons, carnival style games, trampoline acrobats, crowd surfing Oompa Loompa’s.
Unfortunately, there doesn’t appear to be camping so at least one of your crew will have to go sober. To a rave. Hopefully, there’s some sort of shuttle transportation.
The second new festival will be a country affair. The Watershed Festival doesn’t have much information on its website other than the dates (August 3-5, 2012) and a countdown clock that says “all will be revealed”. There should be more information on Watershed at the end of April.
