The Music Festival Junkies 50: January Recap

February 6, 2012 0

Every month, the MFJ crew pores over hours of data to determine the most popular festivals on the site. Here is the January edition of the most popular festivals on Music Festival Junkies (aka the MFJ Top 50).

#1 Spot: The Belgium dance festival, Tomorrowland, tops the list. The main reason for the surge of interest is that they only had a placeholder for their website which directed traffic toward a Facebook page (and little info).

#8 Spot: Searches ran high for the ganja themed Cypress Hill Smokeout which was originally scheduled for November of last year and moved to March of 2012.

#18 Spot: Wakarusa revealed their gigantic sized lineup during January and moved up into the Top Twenty. The festival takes place over four days in the Arkansas Ozarks.

#25 Spot: Combine tattoos, punk rock, and southern California, and its easy to see why Musink climbed up to claim the #25 spot on the MFJ 50.

#28 Spot: The late March Treefort Fest is adding Boise, Idaho to the music festival circuit with a eclectic lineup of SXSW performers.

#36 Spot: BamaJam ran into trouble last year culminating in its cancellation. New organizers have taken over and interest in the project has launched the southern Alabama festival into the MFJ 50.

#49 Spot: Rusted Root and Dark Star Orchestra are just a few of the acts at this indoor music festival that takes place next weekend.
