I am 100% behind Ronnie Gilley! He is a good man! May not be a perfect man, but he is certainly a good person. We all have made poor choices and mistakes in our lives, does that make us bad people. The bible says there is but one perfect being. It also says Judge ye not, less ye be judged. Many of you should think before you speak and stop carrying around all this crap in your spirit against Ronnie. As far as his casino, the Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away. But what he takes away, he will restore abundantly! Ronnie is back on the road to recovery! And he is going to prosper beyond and beyond! Instead of bashing him, pray for Ronnie and his family!

I received refund today. I am sorry about this. I would much rather have had the music festival. I hope to be able to buy tickets in the future for the next Bama Jam. Thanks for the refund.

For those who don't know Country Crossings has been renamed Center Stage
Alabama. It will partially reopen later this month.Ronnie won't be part of that obviously.
Admin is correct here. Ronnie made poor choices, and much has been lost. That's reality. He has to answer for his choices now. No it's not the crime of the century, but he was clearly wrong to offer bribes to state
Legislators. The future of BamaJam was bright. Country Crossings would have prospered without the immediate introduction of video bingo.Ronnie should have bided his time on that, and he wouldn't
Be facing prison today.
Casino style gambling remains fiercely opposed in Alabama, and it is forbidden by
The Constitution of the state. However there
Are amendments to the state Constitution which allow 16 counties to have Bingo in its
Traditional form.Houston County,home of
Country Crossings, is one of them.
A problem arises with the use of electronic
Bingo machines. There are no state laws
Addressing their use. Former Governor Riley considered them slot machines and
Illegal under state law. He ordered a vigorous campaign to seize the machines, and earned the moniker "Bingo Bob." His attorney general disagreed with
The legality of the operation. Bingo Bob prevailed however. So Country Crossings
Was open for just one day and closed.
Our new governor suggested putting the
Matter of electronic bingo up to a vote of the
People. The state supreme court has ruled
Bingo can be played only in its traditional form. Therefore the state legislature needs
To pass new laws concerning the use of electronic bingo devices.
No one was out to stop the BamaJam. It's gone because Ronnie made unwise choices with other ventures. I'm sorry he made those choices, and I feel badly for his family. He had some good ideas. There was potential to create many new badly needed jobs in our area. It's gone now along with BamaJam.

@Dee -- He was flat out convicted guilty of corruption. Breaking the law isn't the same as standing up for your rights. There was no set up. Just greed. It's a shame because Bama Jam is one of the most loved festivals on this site and all the fans who bought tickets are completely screwed.

I believe that Ronnie got caught up in a political push and shove.the politicians did not want BamaJam and they fought him almost to the day of the 1st event. He won. I was there and my son and I had one of the most memorable times of our lives together, we laughed and we cried when Lynard Skynard opened with "Simple Man" the song I sang to him asa a lullaby for years and it is still our song.Ronnie was awesome he sang a few songs himself and did great, I might add.

We atteneded the 2nd event and again we had an incredible time. The bands were great and Ronnie would get up there on stage with a smile, enjoying the fact that we were having so much fun. I'm sure he felt like we made it worth the long fight to make it happen.

We missed last years event and that I regret more than I can say.

I don't know Ronnie personally, but his non-stop, get out of my way attitude reminds me of myself. He is an inspiration to everyone. If you believe in yourself you can do anything.
Everyone who knows anything about politics knows that he was allowed to build Country Crossings, which costs a lot of money and when he was about ready to open the doors the politicians started giving him a really hard time. They set him up to fail. He was on Fox News fighting for his rights and setting the stage for future men and women to stand up for themselves and I respect him so much for that. I don't give up either.

I truely believe that Ronnie was led into a trap and now persecuted and prosecuted by the very politicians who had their own agenda from the start.

Don't give up Ronnie I would love to be a part of BamaJam 2012 and see you on that stage smiling again. Never let go of your dreams and keep the Faith. You have more than a business you fought for you have made friends for life, because you stood up and fought the system.

Consider me a friend for life. Thanks for the memories and the good times to come. Walk thru the fire Ronnie. I'll see you on the other side.

Sincerely from a country girl who made it in business against all odds.

Yes Juanita I agree, and I hope steps will be taken quickly to insure
Fans receive full refunds for the
Tickets.Ronnie can't have any personal involvement in that per the orders of the trial judge. He will
Be sentenced on Nov 15. In the meantime he's allowed to stay home with his family; go to legal
And medical appointments; and
Attend Church.He must wear a
GPS device, and he must meet all
The obligations of his plea agreement. He is forbidden to have
Any involvement in social/public events. There's no soft landing for him here.
Someone close to me is incarcerated.I'm familiar with much
Of what will occur here.It will be a
Strain on the family for some years.
When you go to prison, everything is taken away from you. Some of you know what that means; many of
You don't.
Finally I hope people will stop going on online and spreading rumours about this sad situation.

It' s time for someone to take responsibility here and
Make an official announcement. The situation isn't
Fair to those who bought tickets way in advance. They
Are due prompt refunds.Obviously no acts were booked for this year and that should tell everybody
Something.
Ronnie Gilley is out of jail pending sentencing. That
Won't be far off. He's a convicted federal felon and
The Judge has placed strict limitations upon him.
Ronnie Gilley was the driving force behind Bama
Jam.I don't believe it can happen again without him.
Some people support and admire the man. Others
Hold different views. He made some poor choices.
Now come the consequences. For all of us that means no more Bama Jam.t

The Bama Jam.It won't happen this
Year and perhaps never again.All
Of Ronnie Gilley's business interests are shut down. He will be
Sentenced in the near future. It's a
Sad unfortunate turn of events, but it is reality.
