Brand New Music Festivals! Middle of the Map, The Snow Ball, Rapid Jams

It seems like every week another new fest is being announced. Here are just a few of the 2011 freshmen hoping to make their mark on the music scene.

Middle of the Map Fest 2011
Kansas City is the place to be April 8-9 when Daniel Johnston, Two Door Cinema Club, The Raveonettes, and more take the stage in a few select venues across the Midtown Area.

Rapids Jam Music Festival 2011
Sugarland, Willie Nelson, and Lady Antebellum lead the charge June 16-18 in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina at this brand new country festival.

The Snow Ball Music Festival 2011
The Vail Valley (also the winter home of our staff) plays host to this winter festival March 4-6. Pretty Lights, Bassnectar, and The Flaming Lips are among the artists sure to heat up the slopes.

Way Out West Fest 2011
Local favorites highlight this festival which features the kickass music scene of Tucson, Arizona. Celebrate summer early April 8-9 in the hipster capital of the southwest.

Born during a sweaty, backstage, Bonnaroo downpour, the Chief Festival Junkie's mission in life is to dance, write, and travel to every great festival that this wide world has to offer. While his identity remains a mystery, you may have already met him, probably when he helped himself to your party favors.

    Saturday, May 21st & Sunday, May 22nd at Avalon Organic Gardens, Farm, and EcoVillage in Tumacácori, AZ, Global Change Multi-Media presents the Be Aware Festival featuring the eleven-piece Gabriel of Urantia/TaliasVan of Tora & The Bright & Morning Star Band at 3:00pm on Sunday. Additional artists performing throughout the weekend are Van’sGuard, Starseed Acoustic Ensemble, The Change Agents Band, DeoVibe, Israfel Awakened, and SatNeSu. The festival also includes camping, activist theater, eco-conscious speakers, kids village, hayride tours, ethnic foods, vendors, and more.

    The festival is free for kids 11 and under. Bring the whole family!
    Saturday – Tickets $10.00 in advance $15.00 at gate.
    Sunday – Tickets $20.00 in advance $25.00 at gate.
    Purchase both days in advance for a discounted total of $25.00

    Proceeds benefit the Personality Integration Rehabilitation Program, Agricultural Internships, and Global Family Legal Services immigration programs, nonprofit service organizations promoting positive global change.
