One of the best free shows in the country, The Virgin Mobile FreeFest, announced a 2012 date of Saturday, October 6, 2012. Like Kevin Bacon in a game of tractor chicken, FreeFest usually waits until the last moment with both the dates and the lineup. In this case, the two month mark. The show will be held at the Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland.
There’s no lineup yet and the website doesn’t have much more info posted then what we’ve got above. FreeFest is pushing their Twitter feed and promising insider line-up details and ticket giveaways.

Speaking of tickets and how to get into the show, FreeFest in the past has typically used contests and volunteer work to distribute they limited amount of tickets. In 2011, tickets were offered for sale at a charity price of $50.
