Festivals This Weekend: SXSW, 35 Conferette, CMF, 9 Mile, Savannah Stopover

South By Southwest 2011
One of the heavyweights of music festivals kicks off this weekend in Austin, Texas. SXSW dominates March with bands, films, and interactive panels. If you’ve always considered checking out SXSW, let us tell you — it’s worth the trip.

35 Conferette 2011
Austin isn’t the only festival destination this weekend in Texas. Denton is hosting an 4-day indie fest featuring acts like Big Boi, !!!, Miami Horror, and Portugal. The Man.

Canadian Music Fest 2011
The northern version of SXSW takes place over the next five days in Toronto. A whopping 800 artists, 55 venues, 5 nights all for the price of one wristband.

Savannah Stopover 2011
This first year festival hopes to take advantage of musicians traveling out to South by Southwest. Sounds like a worthy experiment to us and worth checking out.

9 Mile Music Festival 2011
It may have a new name, but the former Caribbean Festival is still serving up plenty of reggae for this one day Miami festival.

Born during a sweaty, backstage, Bonnaroo downpour, the Chief Festival Junkie's mission in life is to dance, write, and travel to every great festival that this wide world has to offer. While his identity remains a mystery, you may have already met him, probably when he helped himself to your party favors.
