The SnowMont Music Festival has closed the doors on its inaugural kickoff scheduled for March 30-April 1, 2012. It was only earlier this winter when we reported on the new ski/snowboard music festival based in Killington, Vermont. The reason for the cancellation is due to “lack of demand” according to the official announcment on the website:
It is with heavy regret we announce that the SnowMont Music Festival has been cancelled indefinitely due to the event’s lack of demand. As the visionaries of this event, we can assure you that we are just as disappointed to tell you this news as you are to hear it, and we thoroughly sympathize with your disappointment.
For those of you that bought a ticket, expect a full refund in seven to ten business days. This will be an automatic refund so there’s no need to do anything else. If you don’t get your refund, you can contact Front Gate Tickets at 888-512-7469.
We’re guessing that the lack of demand stems from Vermont’s sparse winter which is causing ski areas to close early all over the state. Temperatures have climbed into the eighties this week — unbelievable for this time of year.
At least one of the headliners isn’t giving up on Vermont. Snoop Dogg will play two shows at the infamous Pickle Barrel in Killington on March 31st.
